Pete is responsible for HM Coastguard\'s liaison with the Oil and Gas and Renewables Industries in the UK, maintaining close links with individual companies, duty holders, platform operators, drilling contractors, vessel operators, civilian transport helicopter operators and the Industry Trade Associations including Oil and Gas UK, Renewable UK and the Emergency Response and Rescue Vessel Association. Pete acts as a Subject Matter Specialist for the Offshore Energy Industries, assisting in formulating policy, advice and information as it affects HM Coastguard and the wider MCA. This involves working with SAR partners to resolve SAR issues and to advise and guide them in response to offshore energy SAR and emergency response matters. Representing the MCA and HM Coastguard to the industries and other bodies and organisations at meetings, events and conferences, Pete communicates the MCA\'s views and position on matters of concern.He represents the MCA at Offshore Energy Industry groups, including: Emergency Response Offshore Liaison Group (EPOL), Evacuation, Excape and Rescue Techncial Advisory Group (EERTAG), Aviation Safety Technical Group (ASTG), Offshore Renewable Energy Emergency Forum (OREEF), Navigation and Offshore Renewable Energy Liaison (NOREL) and UK Police Offshore Energy Group (UKPOEG). Pete regularly reviews, plans and facilitates SAR and ER exercises with the Offshore Oil and Gas Industry and the Offshore Renewable Energy Industry as well as providing training and awareness to both internal staff and external agencies and organisations through own delivery courses, workshops and external meetings and conferences.He provides specialist advice and support to the National Coastguard Network during SAR incidents involving the offshore industry and contributes to incident reviews and compiling and implementing the learning in relation to operational communications.
