ABOUT PETA OLIVE

Peta Olive is a Director of Compensation and Litigation in the Land & Property Division of the Department of Transport and Planning. Prior to joining the Department of Transport and Planning, Peta was a Principal Lawyer and her legal career spanned 20 years in a number of private practice law firms. Peta\'s legal expertise focused on compulsory land acquisitions, commercial litigation, dispute resolution and corporate insolvency. Peta was admitted to practice in and holds bachelor degrees in Law (Hons) and Arts. Peta also holds Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification and is currently undertaking a Masters of Public Administration from ANZSOG and the University of Melbourne.Peta was the previous and inaugural Chair of the Women in Transport Network which was established to bring together anyone working, or aspiring to work, in Victoria\'s transport industry who is interested in gender equality and diversity. Peta is a former board director of the Victorian Amateur Football Association (the \"VAFA\") which is Australia\'s largest Amateur Australian Rules Football Association. Peta is also a former board director and deputy chair of Women’s Health West which is an organisation committed to improving equality and justice for women living in Melbourne’s western region. Peta has provided tutorials in Property Law at the University of Melbourne in the Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning and has served as a tribunal member of the VAFA and as a member of the VAFA\'s Independent Integrity Division. Peta has also been a mentor in the Law Institute of Victoria\'s junior lawyer mentoring program.
