ABOUT PIERRE-EMMANUEL SAINT-ESPRIT
To train yourself on Circular Economy thanks to our ESSEC MOOC- Passionate about the circular economy, Pierre-Emmanuel Saint-Esprit co-founded the company ZACK at the age of 22 while studying at ESSEC and the University of California, Berkeley, to combat electronic waste (through recycling, repair, resale, and donations to charities). In 2020, ZACK was ranked among the top three circular companies in France according to the TECH FOR GOOD report from the French Presidency, alongside Phénix and Castalie. In 2021, Pierre-Emmanuel was listed among the Top 50 Young Committed Leaders Under 40 by the Cercle de Giverny x Le Point, the Forbes France 30 Under 30, and the Choiseul 100 rankings. In March 2021, Pierre-Emmanuel founded the association EC2027, which now brings together more than 80 companies advocating for circular economy principles to be placed at the heart of public policies. Its members include Back Market, La Poste, Valéo, Circulab, Murfy, and Vesto. In February 2022, ZACK was acquired by the Manutan Group to help it become Europe’s leading B2B distributor for the circular economy. Pierre-Emmanuel now leads the group’s circular and client decarbonization initiatives (industrial refurbishment, leasing, repair, CSR reporting). In 2022, he also founded the Global ESSEC Circular Economy Chair, an annual training program for 40 young people to become Chief Circular Officers. He serves as its Executive Director. The Chair also hosts various research initiatives and is supported by L’Oréal, Equans, and SNCF. He is also a board member of the National Institute for the Circular Economy (INEC) and the Circular Fashion Federation (FMC). Finally, Pierre-Emmanuel sits on the National Council for the Circular Economy.
