ABOUT PERLEI TOOR

Currently a Master of Divinity candidate at Harvard Divinity School. I work at the intersection of religious literacy, human rights, and pro‑democracy advocacy. Having lived, studied, and worked across Europe, the United States, and Asia, I’m committed to translating complex, often sensitive issues into clear, accessible, people‑first communications for diverse audiences. My experience spans faith-based organizations, academic institutions, and NGOs, including roles with Harvard’s Religion and Public Life program, Siddiqi Strategies, the Baptist Joint Committee for Religious Liberty / Christians Against Christian Nationalism, and the Bahá’í International Community Office of the United Nations. I’ve managed newsletters and campaigns, wrote op-eds and reports, designed educational resources on antisemitism and Islamophobia, and led projects on international religious freedom, Christian nationalism, and the ethics of AI in religious freedom advocacy.I bring a strategist’s mindset and an editor’s eye to every project: from crafting communications strategies for social justice campaigns to building interfaith, pro‑democracy coalitions and supporting religious literacy in secondary schools and universities. In my academic work, I wrote my thesis aboiut Anne Frank’s editorial process and her universal appeal to a Christian or culturally Christian audience. I’m especially interested in how narrative, audience, and moral clarity come together in effective public communication.Areas of focus: strategic communications · faith-based and interfaith advocacy · religious literacy education · democracy and human rights · program and event communications · newsletter and content strategy.
