The European CBRNE Centre is a consortium of leading competence providers with regard to toxic chemicals (C), dangerous infectious material (B), radioactive and nuclear material (RN), and explosives (E). The centre provides excellence to its customers in arenas of science and technology, in teaching and in training, laboratory access and testing. By taking the initiative to coordinate available competence and infrastructure in the north, the centre contributes to Europe’s competitive edge in the safety and security domain. The centre is a part of Umea University.
ABOUT PER-ERIK JOHANSSON
Director of the European CBRNE Center at Umea University, which initiates, coordinates and participates in national and international research and development projects. The purpose of our work is to improve knowledge for preparedness and management of CBRNE incidents. The European CBRNE Center is made up of six partners: Umeå University, Umeå municipality, Västerbotten County Council, The National CBRN Defence Centre of the Swedish Armed Forces, The Swedish Defence Research Agency (FOI), and The Swedish National Fortification Agency.
