ABOUT PENIAS TEMBO
I am a PhD candidate in Epidemiology at the University of South Carolina. My research focuses on examining the role of diet and closely related lifestyle factors, particularly sleep and physical activity, in the development of obesity-related metabolic dysregulation and cancer risk. I have keen interest in chrononutrition, examining how meal timing relative to circadian rhythms influences metabolic health and chronic diseases. Within this research domain, I focus on exploring dietary strategies such as time-restricted eating and alternate-day fasting. I am eager to collaborate with researchers working at the intersection of nutrition, circadian biology, metabolic health, and chronic disease epidemiology, and I am open to interdisciplinary and translational research opportunities. Additionally I am interested in applying my causal inference skills to large real world clinical datasets.
