I am now enjoying general retirement but became a Director for Monte Carvoeiro UK Limited and taking on the role of Chairman for the Monte Carvoeiro Owners’ Committee.Having been a dedicated business individual with over 40 years experience in Newspaper, Magazine and Books sales, with a proven track record of developing sales effectively against market trends. I am the last Head of Circulation to increase sales at D.C. Thomson & Co. Ltd.With over 12 years involvement in the overseas market I managed a range of portfolios achieving sales growth in a number of difficult markets. During this time, I also managed a book operation based in Toronto, Canada dealing with distributors, sales reps and the major retail chains. I also established a smaller operation in the US operating out of Nashville TN.Having left the day to day life of the newspaper/magazine industry I moved into system support. I joined Digital Technology International and provided a first class sales system support service to all our clients across North America, Scandinavia, UK and Australia.I also provided assistance to my EMEA Sales colleagues, when required, in the role of Circulation Sales Engineer giving system presentations to potential and current clients in the UK and mainland Europe demonstrating the benefits for traditional print, online and digital solutions in the e-commerce market.I communicate openly and honestly and have effectively built staff engagement in challenging situations. I have an attention for detail and I am never frightened to get involved at all levels on a project or business matter and will strive to ensure all objectives are achieved
