ABOUT PEGGY MILLS

I retired in 2017 after 27 years of working as an adapted physical educator. I witnessed an alarming trend in the lifestyles of my students with disabilities once they left the education system. Statistics, as well as my own experience, proved that individuals who reached adulthood were encountering roadblocks to achieving and maintaining healthy lifestyles and good fitness habits. So I founded UFIT, Unique Fitness and Independence Training, to hit this issue head-on. We later rebranded as Valemee, which captures our \"value me, empower me\" mission. Lifelong health and fitness is not a privilege, it is a right. Valemee fitness center was created and is still one-of-a-kind training and fitness center that utilizes individualized programming which includes a unique visual system to build independence. Helping people who are differently-abled achieve their potential and access fitness that meets their individual needs is the goal of Valemee. The certification course, approved through AFAA/NASM, American Council on Exercise (ACE), and ACSM will further expands the vision and empower clients as effort is made to equip personal trainers and fitness professionals with the tools they need to empower those with cognitive, behavioral, physical, and developmental challenges toward a life of optimal health.
