About Pedro Palomino
I’m an Environmental Professional.I believe land conservation, efficient transportation infrastructure and good urban planning are key to a sustainable future. My unique career with ExxonMobil has provided me with a well-rounded perspective on land use. I started as a PM on soil and groundwater remediation projects in New Jersey before expanding to larger projects in the US, Canada and Europe. From a role focused on environmental liability management, I pivoted to a business role. As Chief of Staff for ExxonMobil’s corporate real estate department, I brainstormed organizational strategies, stewarded performance metrics, developed cash flow models and secured funding for $20M+ commercial real estate transactions.In 2020, I became a dad and moved into my current role with ExxonMobil Sustainability, as the internal “expert” on US hazardous waste, hazardous materials and release reporting regulations. I was excited by the challenge to develop expertise and equally anxious about my ability to meet expectations. During this stressful period, I focused on three things 1) developing a collaborative network, 2) learning quickly by asking questions and 3) aligning expectations with my manager and clients. Thanks to the support of my wonderful wife and mentors, I have improved communications through monthly calls, enhanced collaboration with a SharePoint site, and led a contracting strategy to secure improved waste handling services.I want to apply my environmental experience at ExxonMobil to make a tangible positive impact in my local community.
