ABOUT PEDRO TOVAR BRAGA
Pedro Tovar is an electrical/telecommunication engineer with MSc and PhD degrees specializing in fiber-optic systems, including fiber sensing, microwave photonics, and random lasers. With over 13 years of experience in electrical and instrumentation/automation engineering, including 4 years in offshore engineering, he has worked in R&D at CETUC, Genesis Energies, and as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Ottawa. Currently, he is a Senior Researcher at Huawei Canada’s Ottawa Advanced Technology Lab, focusing on fiber-sensing systems. His research interests include optical communications, fiber monitoring, signal processing, quantum optics, and neural networks.
