ABOUT PEDRO SOUSA
I am a dedicated soccer coach with over a decade of experience across youth, academy, and college levels. I currently serve as the Head Coach at Essex County College (NJCAA Division II) in Newark, NJ, where I led a successful program turnaround in my first season during Fall 2024, finishing with an 11–4–1 record and earning a #20 national ranking. In Fall 2025, the team posted a 10–4 record, further solidifying the program’s upward trajectory.Under my leadership, six players earned All-Region First Team honors, and four players advanced to NCAA Division I programs, including Seton Hall University, Mount St. Mary’s University, and the University of New Haven.My coaching philosophy centers on player development, team identity, and tactical periodization, with a strong emphasis on creating environments that promote growth, accountability, and high performance both on and off the field.I bring a multilingual and multicultural approach to the game and am fluent in English, Portuguese, and Spanish, allowing me to connect effectively with players from diverse backgrounds.
