ABOUT PEDRO ALEJANDRO CASTILLO CASTILLO

I am a Product Manager with knowledge and experience in Chemical Engineering, mathematical programming, optimization algorithms, and multivariate statistical methods. I work at Aspen Technology (AspenTech) as the Product Manager of Aspen Fidelis, a discrete-event simulator with flow optimization. This simulator can incorporate operational rules and logistics by coding such in Visual Studio. My experience at AspenTech also includes developing an improved method for pre-processing batch data for Aspen ProMV, and a new algorithm for Aspen Mtell Maestro for detecting asset/process degradation that can lead to a process or mechanical failure. While working at AspenTech, I have contributed to 3 US patents.During my graduate studies, I published eight articles in various peer-reviewed journals and presented my research work at different scientific conferences. My research experience includes formulation of mathematical models for production planning and scheduling, global optimization algorithms, multivariate statistical methods for development of hybrid models and real-time process monitoring, and using machine learning to identify onsets of asset mechanical failures and process disruptions. My interests include product management, process optimization, process simulation, computer programming and data analytics.
