With over 19 years of experience in media houses in India and Oman, a masters degree in English, and a natural flair for language, I bring to the table a combination of experience, education and skill. As the Asia editor at Skift, I anchor the publication\'s coverage across Asia, Middle East and India.Prior to Skift, I was the Editor of ETTravelWorld, the B2B travel vertical of the Economic Times, which I helped launch. My experience in B2B travel was strengthened by my stint in DDP Publications, where I was the Managing Editor responsible for 7 magazines.As the chief copy editor of Times of India, the country’s largest read daily, I’ve been conditioned to work under minimum supervision. And my steady progress in career has largely been due to my writing and organizational skills. Having worked for a daily since my very first job, I have learnt to value time and respect deadlines.While at the Times of India, I also wrote on a variety of topics ranging from lifestyle to entertainment and the arts. I have also interviewed television and film stars and also selected stories for the edition on a day-to-day basis, briefing reporters about articles that need to be filed. While proofreading pages, I\'ve always been commended on my eye for detail. I am well-versed in QuarkXpress and have made pages using this software, a skill that I picked up while working as a sub-editor with The Telegraph. I put the same skills to good use in my job in Oman as senior reporter-cum-sub-editor with Times of Oman, the Gulf country’s leading daily. Here, I also made pages using the software - InDesign. As an employee, I am sincere, adaptable and a team player.
