ABOUT GORDON PEARSON

I am a continuous improvement fanatic. It is what gets me out of bed every morning. The joy in helping others succeed in making their working lives better and more rewarding and helping organizations succeed never leaves me.I am passionate about learning and improvement. The principles and tools of Lean, Six Sigma and Agile are at the heart of who I am. Each day is an opportunity to learn something new and improve.Born in Glasgow I grew up all over the world with stops in Sudan,Thailand,Spain & Sri Lanka along the way. After taking a gap year doing agricultural and building restoration work in France I returned to Scotland to study engineering with management, including an exchange placement at a technical university in Germany.I joined Bass plc within their soft drinks division (Britvic) on a graduate program (making brands such as Pepsi and Tango) and it was there my passion for improvement was ignited. I learnt a huge amount as at that time the company was part of the Lean development pilot written about by Womack and Jones in “Lean Thinking”. I had direct involvement in many aspects of this on my program, first as a production line supervisor, then as a forecasting manager and finally as a factory planning manager. I then worked directly as a shift leader, successfully applying many of the principles on the front line.My career has built on these foundations over the last 20 years. I have worked in the pharmaceutical, food, agricultural and even financial services sectors, always taking greatest enjoyment and satisfaction in the development of people and the improvement of processes. I have learnt and grown in every role and hugely appreciate the support and guidance I have received from many talented and committed colleagues.Currently I am loving being part of the CSL family, working in the influenza vaccination part of the business (Seqirus). How can we develop an excellent continuous improvement culture building on the principles of Lean? That’s the current challenge Very happy to hear from like minded colleagues who would like to share experiences so we can all learn and improve together (although please don\'t try to sell me anything). Also proficient in: Shingo Model, Hoshin KanriFacet 5 & Teamscape ( Accredited Practitioner)SAPPRINCE2 (Practitioner)Robotic Process Automation (RPA)
