ABOUT PEARCE MARTIN

I started working in 2015 when I was 17 years old for Greene King Pub Company (Talbot Inn) as a waiter/ glass collector, working my way up to be a Duty Manager/ Team Leader. After 3 years at the Talbot Inn, I transferred to another pub called the Oaktree Inn due to an increase in pay. I worked at the Oaktree Inn for a further year until I decided I wanted to experience a new challenge. During my time at Greene King Pub Company, I received an invitation to the “Golden Ticket Event” on two separate occasions, which is a yearly event to celebrate outstanding performances throughout that year. These invitations are given out by the General Manager and/ or Business Development Manager. In December 2019 I left Greene King Pub Company in search of a new challenge as a Sales Advisor for the well-known mobile phone network provider Vodafone. Working towards monthly sales targets, myself and the team were rather successful, especially in the customer service aspect of the job. There was a customer feedback function called NPS which allowed customers to provide feedback on their experience in store and our store received some of the best feedback within the company. Unfortunately due to COVID-19 and pay cuts, I was made redundant from my position in June of 2020. Since my redundancy from Vodafone, I have been working for various warehouses and factories such as DMW Logistics and Thornton’s with various recruitment agencies whilst on the lookout for a permanent employment position. I eventually found full-time employment as a Business Administration apprentice within the Customer Engagement Department at NCFE. NFCE is an awarding body that also provides an online Functional Skills assessment, employability assessment, prior learning assessment for apprentices, and E-portfolio where I was one of the first points of contact for all existing customers and many potential new customers.
