Researched, evaluated and provided implementation guidance for new Oracle Database features, including multi-tenant databases, unified audit trail, proxy logins, hybrid columnar compression, snap-cloning using sparse disk groups, transparent database encryption and ASM clustered file system. This lead to implementing many of these features in the production environment, resulting in quicker deployment times, improving performance and greater security for Oracle databases.• Created tools to analyze storage consumption of backups within the Data Domain, and developed and implemented solutions eliminating excessive backup growth and avoiding over $1m of additional capacity purchases.• Developed numerous automation scripts and processes mass updates of scheduled Cloud Control 13c jobs and automated Swingbench performance benchmarks, enabling the DBA team to provide better support to internal customers and complete tasks accurately with less manual effort. • Developed and implemented several Oracle database platform migration projects with the goals of minimizing downtime and reducing risk. Projects included re-platforming to Oracle Exadata, hardware lifecycle events, and migrating to new data centers.• Researched and created guidelines for cloud-enabling technologies that support migrating IT workloads to cloud infrastructure and platforms, enabling a managed adoption of cloud technologies.• Supported project planning activities, refining project scope and identifying task inter-dependencies to accurately estimate project task and implementation timelines.• Created and delivered numerous internal team training sessions. Topics include known issues and resolutions, new technology features and changes to Oracle database architectures.• Provided advanced level 3 support for both production support and project DBA issues, resolving critical issues with performance optimization, recovering databases and troubleshooting failures.
