About Payton Oreilly

Only days after graduating high school I packed up my bags and drove across the country to walk on at a division one football program. I had turned down several scholarship offers at smaller schools and decided this was a risk I needed to take. What drove me to do this? There were a few reasons, first, I have always strived to be the best that I can be, and second, because people said that I couldn’t do it. Both of these reasons describe me perfectly, I am always looking to do the impossible while finding new ways to better myself. I have been able to take this mentality and apply it to my academics, athletics and work. I was able to land an internship after my freshman year of college, a task only 20% of college students can accomplish. Furthermore, I am double majoring in finance and accounting in the Farmer School of Business and I have been able to maintain a strong GPA while competing in division one athletics. I am interested in learning more about opportunities in accounting and investment banking where I can utilize my strong quantitative skill set. I play as a fullback on Miami University\'s D1 football team. Being a student athlete has allowed me to continue to develop my time management and leadership skills.
