ABOUT PAYSON MAYDEW

Payson is a student-athlete graduate of Emporia State University in Emporia, Kansas. The ESU alumn graduated with both an MBA-Accounting (2018) and B.S.B - Accounting (2018, Cum Laude) degree program. He also holds a Master of Education - Teaching degree completed in 2023. His sporting endeavors culminated in a four time track and field collegiate All-American, six time academic All-American status, and a top 25 American ranking in the Decathlon. He was also named Emporia State’s Male-Student Athlete of the Year in 2014.Currently, Payson is working at Emporia State in a multi-faceted role. While working on his Doctorate in Business through Penn State, he sits as a full-time accounting faculty member within the School of Business and Technology and is an Assistant Coach on the Track and Field Team, specializing in jumps and multis development. He still has a part-time position in industry as a contract tax professional for Deloitte Tax LLP through TCWGlobal. Lastly, he also owns a small trading card business that specializes in buying, selling, and grading trading cards.Previously, Payson was-A high school/middle school teacher for USD 326 in Logan, KS, helping teach in two subjects, Business and Band-A Tax Consultant with Deloitte Tax LLP, serving clients primarily within the multi-state corporate income/franchise taxes realm-An entrepreneurial coach working to teach college interns how to build and run their own businesses through the vehicle of an exterior painting company. Through this business development training, he looked to improve upon college students\' experience; developing them for the ever changing world that demands many more soft skills in addition to hard skills to have the upper edge on employment.
