Created a manufacturing line (with a $2M budget) for Nitinol components including: laser cutting, shape setting with automated salt bath, micro-blasting, oxide removal, electro-polishing, automated laser welding and automated optical dimensional inspection- Headed procurement and installation of multiple pieces of equipment, and collaborated with facilities and EH & S teams to address power and safety requirements- Directed the Nitinol prototyping lab and supported multiple R&D projects with fabricating Nitinol component prototypes achieving 70% reduction in lead time. Overall, 260 work orders were processed resulting in saving $1.25M per year- Supported multiple R&D projects in design, FEA, dimensional inspection, root cause analysis (with SEM), and supplier development for Nitinol components- Trained and mentored multiple engineers, technicians and interns in Nitinol processing and FEA.
