ABOUT PAVANKUMAR SONEJEE

CPA and Chartered Accountant with extensive experience of 14+ years in tax, auditing, financial analysis and reporting, including 5+ years at PwC. At Corpay, I manage corporate, indirect taxes, transfer pricing and transaction services for the group entities in Canada, US, UK, APAC and EMEA region. During my tenure, we did 3 major acquisitions of other similar sized companies and we helped smooth transition of tax services. At PwC Toronto, I have been a part of the tax team specialising in cross-border taxation and provided compliance services, including US and Canadian tax return preparation in CCH Axcess and TaxPrep softwares.At PwC India, I was a part of international tax team for over ~5 years with a focus on serving financial services clients [including, Canadian mutual fund, US based private equity funds (with AUM >US$65bn), European institutional funds, Australian superannuation funds, AMC, Banks and corporates across the globe]. Highly motivated to take up challenging projects, in particular, carried out financial impact analysis due to GST and clean-up of withholding tax process for Citibank. Also, been instrumental in making representations to Finance Ministry on industry issues and conducting international webinars on various topics, including, SBO Rules, protocol amending the India-Mauritius and India-Singapore tax treaty, overseas transfer provisions, etc. Prior to PwC, I was working with Falod and Khandelwal (F&K) Chartered Accountants, Mumbai, where I was providing tax, audit and accounting services to Indian stock brokers, manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers. I have also assisted in many high profile tax litigation matters (companies been through search and seizure).I have also been a freelancer for around 2 years and provided accounting, tax compliance and audit services to business houses and high networth individuals.
