The TIAA Institute provides thought leadership in the areas of lifetime financial security and strategic management of higher education. I develop, conduct and oversee research on issues such as defined contribution plan design, financial literacy and capability, income and asset management in retirement, and higher education workforce trends. I am also responsible for the development and execution of Institute symposiums on such issues. Findings and implications are disseminated to internal and external audiences through reports and presentations. In addition, I function as a strategic consultant to TIAA business units, such as individual and institutional client services, product development, marketing and government relations. I am editor of the Institute\'s Trend and Issues publication series and director of the Institute Fellows Program.
