About Paul Steven Weiss

I am a computer scientist with a passion for aerospace and space systems engineering. I have experience in both the public and private sides of the space industry as a ground/control systems engineer. Prior to my current role, I was a Ground Segment Engineer at SpaceX, primarily focused on software systems for tracking assets. My team maintains the commanding and telemetry systems that support both Dragon and Falcon operations, from launch through landing. I am also a primary operator for the Dragon CRS missions. Previously, I worked on a number of NASA missions, including the NASA/USGS\'s Landsat-8 mission, otherwise known as the Landsat Data Continuity Mission (LDCM), NASA\'s Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter, the NASA/NOAA GOES-R mission, and NASA\'s Space Network Ground Segment Sustainment project. On the private side, I worked on Intelsat\'s GNS control system and GMV\'s hifly control system. Outside of satellite control systems, I have experience in project management, software life-cycle management (requirements elicitation to integration and deployment), and AI/Machine Learning with computer vision. I also have some experience in psychology, specifically cognition, and business fundamentals.Core Languages: C++, Python, and JavaFrequently used: JavaScript (Node.js, AngualrJS, D3.js, Three.js), Web Components (Polymer), C, and MATLABWorked with/limited proficiency: Cython, Visual Basic, Perl, Ruby, BASIC, pBASIC, Scheme, Lisp,(LUSH), Mathematica, Assembly, and various compiler languages.
