ABOUT PAUL STEELS

I\'m a positive and hard-working individual, with over 30 years’ practical experience within the construction industry, including management, project and job organisation, and problem-solving. I am ambitious, self-motivated and aim to achieve the best results in all that I undertake. I take a positive and enthusiastic approach to all projects that I am involved in and often regarded as a very flexible, accommodating and reliable individual with a very friendly, helpful and approachable personality. I also enjoy learning and consistently look for ways to improve my skills set and knowledge, so embrace any opportunity to learn and take on new skills and responsibilities where high performance and teamwork are key. Key Achievements: • Product improvement through improved batching procedures at a manufacturing level. • The successful conversion to newer more sustainable and innovate products that offer more practical on-site solutions.• Effective face to face interactions, marketing and the promotion of newer specialised construction products. • The introduction of the Plant Product Support Role within Lafarge, which has evolved into the Customer Service Representative for ready-mix technical and support.• The idea for an interactive home software system, that allows its users to compare alternative ready-mix solutions in their designs, which has now been developed and currently in use within Tarmac CRH.• The development of a national training package to introduce new employee’s that join the company to the construction industry, including the different processes and divisions within it.Personal, • Part of a successful 5-week expedition to Nepal to summit the Mountain Kala Patthar in the Everest region, climbing to a height of 5580meters and also visiting Everest Base Camp.
