Hello! I’m Paul and welcome to my linkedin page. I’m a lawyer by background and specialise in employment law predominantly within financial services. I also have a particular interest in professional and regulatory conduct / discipline. I am Head of Employment Litigation for RBS/NatWest Mentor where I lead a team of lawyers and litigators responsible for supporting our clients with all aspects of employment law and dispute resolution. Before joining RBS/Natwest, I headed the Employee Conduct Breach Management team for EMEA at Barclays. Before that I spent 10 years with Clydesdale Bank / Virgin Money in various legal and senior HR roles. Prior to that I worked in private practice law firms, specialising in employment law. In addition to my ‘day job’, I sit as a Tribunal Chair on the Health and Care Professions Tribunal, who regulate 15 health care professions. I also sit as a Tribunal Chair for the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries’ Disciplinary Tribunal. I am a former Appeal Board Member for the General Teaching Council for Scotland. I also teach on the Post Graduate Employment Law and Commercial Awareness courses at the University of Glasgow. I’m learning Spanish in my (limited) spare time. ¡la verdad! Before qualifying as a lawyer, I worked in HR roles with Odeon and TUI PLC (where I spent time overseas as a Guest Relations Manager). I also like dogs, travel and eating out.
