ABOUT PAULO RESENDE
After obtaining in 2006, a five-year graduate degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering (automation speciality) by the University of Coimbra (Portugal), I worked for ESRIN, the European Space Agency centre for Earth Observation, in Frascati, south of Rome (Italy).In early 2008, I returned to Portugal to work for Critical Software at Taveiro and at Lisbon, in the Earth Observation and Command & Control engineering areas.In mid 2008, I integrated the project team IMARA (now called RITS) at the INRIA research centre of Rocquencourt, close to Paris (France). At this team I was responsible for software development, systems integration, preparation of demonstrations and deliverables, for several European and French projects related to fully automated driverless vehicles and Advanced Driving Assistance Systems (ADAS). In particular, I worked on trajectory planning and control of driverless and cooperative vehicles (Cybercars). During this experience I initiated on project management tasks.In 2013, I worked for the IT Link group (IT Link System + IPSIS) as a consultant for Valeo, in the Comfort and Driving Assistance Systems business group, where I developed an IR camera based driver monitoring system.Since early 2014, I work for Valeo, at the Driving Assistance Research product group. I started as System Engineer and then as a Product Technical Leader in the Drive4U project developing, integrating and demonstrating Advanced Driving Assistance Systems (ADAS) technologies into demo vehicles. Currently, I work as Autonomous Driving Platform System Department Manager, in the development of a Driving Assistance Research Traversable (DART) Platform common to all Driving Assistance Research projects including Cruise4U, Drive4U and eDeliver4U.Specialties: Systems and software development; Automated and autonomous vehicles; Automated driving architectures; Guidance, navigation and control; Embedded software and electronics; Driver monitoring; Project management.
