ABOUT PAUL MCHAFFEY
Paul is a highly experienced International Security Director and Risk Management Consultant providing specialist security advice and support to programs globally. He is bi-lingual French and English proactively driving improvements in security culture and awareness within the area of responsibility through knowledge of security; significant experience and the ability to communicate at all levels. Paul has worked in many theaters including Iraq, Haiti, Honduras and sub Saharan Africa, where he provides a familiar interface between the local security context of complex environments and international projects so that they can achieve their objectives in a safe manner. Paul has consolidated his experience in the security field to become a member of the in country leadership teams in flagship development projects in francophone Africa. As a facilitator, Paul seeks to increase connectivity between companies and stakeholders striving to progress in the countries which are frequently placed low on the World Bank’s, Ease of Doing Business Index. These are often hostile and certainly provide daily complex challenges to all organizations. As a capacity builder, Paul seeks to upskill teams to internationally recognized standards, and boasts a high success rate. With a systems based approach which focusses on quantifying actual security risk, where few reliable information systems and sources exist, he seeks to provide leadership with the relevant information required to make sound decisions. In addition, Paul has had significant front line crisis management experience from natural disasters in the Caribbean; to epidemics such as Ebola response and resilience in Africa; as well as physical security management in Iraq.
