ABOUT PAUL MCGOWAN

A Senior Project Manager/Operational Resilience Consultant with wide-spread experience in delivering global programs of work with multi-national blue chip organisations. Over 20 years experience working across technology and business verticals, focusing on GRC, IT DR/service continuity testing, cyber security/resilience, technical & design assurance, third party assurance (with vendor, managed service and cloud providers), business continuity, major incident/crisis management and regulatory requirements. More recently concentrating on the FCA\'s Operational Resilience discussion paper with special interest on offline backup datavaults, impact tolerances, threat scenarios and looking at cross sector initiatives. Has stood up from scratch, or has completely remodelled, the organisation\'s global recovery strategy and target operating model focusing on having a strong framework, policies and procedures that match the organisation\'s regulatory and risk requirements. Has then implemented the agreed recovery strategies working closely with SMEs to integrate the solutions into BAU. Managed the various overarching control systems within the resilience sphere to illustrate corporate maturity and to prioritise C-Suite investment (risk and control self assessment (RSCA), COBIT, NIST, 3LOD, KRIs). Tenacious and pragmatic with extensive and versatile international leadership experience in managing cross functional and multi-cultural teams across the globe (EMEA, APAC and Americas). Has successfully worked within insourced, augmented, vendor and multi vendor engagements. A passionate and straight forward individual, equally adept at working at operational or board level, with a diverse exposure to a broad range of business disciplines and industries including finance, investment, asset, public service, service, media, governmental, manufacturing, education, healthcare and utilities.
