ABOUT PAUL KISSINGER

With a very successful career over the years at a large domestic and international planning, landscape architecture and urban design firm, I have decided to take my experience and focus on being an Educator, as well as run my own strategic planning and design firm located in Ann Arbor Michigan.In over three decades of experience I have been fortunate to have the opportunity to utilize my talents, knowledge and skills to positively impact communities across the globe through planning, landscape architecture and urban design. There are very few things that are better than seeing and experiencing the environments that I have been a part of creating and seeing the smiles on the faces of the people enjoying the space whether it is an urban park, resort, community center, mixed use project, campus or waterfront.My philosophy has always been focused on creativity, innovation, respect for the environment and culture of a place, measurable economic success and being implementable.Integral to the process of design and implementation for me is developing strong relationships with my clients and team mates. It is through these relationships I have had the opportunity to become council too many public and private leaders that have resulted in award winning and catalytic projects that have had a positive impact on a community or a country. I have enjoyed creating these relationships with clients and consultants across the world. Domestically by shaping the future of a number of cities and globally by working in throughout the Caribbean, Europe, the Middle East, and South East Asia. As a former senior shareholder of an international planning, landscape architecture and urban design firm, in addition to leading one of the most successful studios’ and profit center I was involved in a number of corporate activities, including being a board member, chief operating office and various other strategic initiatives over the years. In addition to the corporate and creative portion of my career, one of the many joys of leading a successful studio in a large organization is the opportunity to work with a number of talented young designers. Through the teaching and mentoring that goes on in the studios I have led, I take great satisfaction in knowing that many of my colleagues and former teammates have gone onto to great things for themselves.
