ABOUT PAUL KARPECKI

As a practicing Optometrist and Medical Director of KEPLR Vision, a private equity backed practice partnership, which now boasts 450+ Optometrists, I aspire to leverage my expansive clinical expertise and business acumen to elevate the role of Optometry. My commitment to innovation is evidenced through partnerships with startups, collaborating as we bring new technologies and innovative treatments to the Optometric space. I am most proud of being recognized as one of the 20 most influential physicians in optometry and of giving lectures and over the years.I am Director of Cornea Services at Kentucky Eye Institute in Lexington, KY) Gaddie Eye Centers in Louisville, KY and Center for Sight in Carmel, IN. In addition to completing a full year Retina Fellowship at one of the top 20 US practices, Retina Associates of Kentucky, I am the Associate Professor at the University of Pikeville Kentucky of Optometry. I enjoy moderating and chairing sessions like the Congressional Symposium, Tear Film and Ocular Surface Society (TFOS) and Dry Eye Summit. Serving on the International Dry Eye Task Force, as a TFOS Global Ambassador and DEWS II Diagnostic Methodology sub-committee allow me to mentor others to elevate the dry eye landscape and the approach we take to better patient outcomes. My clinical interests span dry eye, cornea, and retinal disease, including age-related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. Expansive interests have resulted in being a research investigator for multiple studies in these areas. I serve as Chief Medical Editor for Review of Optometry and have authored 30+ peer reviewed articles, 400+ non-peer reviewed and 7 book chapters.
