ABOUT PAUL JOSEPH

I am a nimble, energetic, enthusiastic, and self-motivated agent for change. I leverage emotional intelligence to cater my communication style to best suit my audience. I have had a seat at the table with C-suite executives, including The Bank of New York’s former CFO (now Wells Fargo CFO), Mike Santomassimo, and former President (now Citi CAO), Karen Peetz. The Corporate Controller and Chief Accounting Officer for BNYM, Kurt Kurimsky, is both a mentor and a friend. I have many tools acquired through my 20+ years of client-facing relationship management, vendor management, people management, project management, brokerage operations and program management experience. I am adept at distilling the complex and making it simple. I love to learn and am always looking to improve workflows, processes and myself. I have obtained an ASM (Agile Scrum Master) certification, PMP (Project Management Professional) certification and MBA. I have managed operational efficiency initiatives and enterprise-wide change management programs. I have had direct management responsibility over teams in the US and India. I have moved operations functions across the globe, while maintaining transparency and ensuring appropriate controls are in place to meet SLAs. My experience covers extensive work within brokerage operational areas processing DTC settlements, international settlements, stock loan, global corporate actions, client onboarding, and US tax. My consulting, outsourcing, and operations line management experience give me unique perspective and insight into process flows and policies across multiple financial service firms. These experiences include work with multiple vendors and utilities which support technology and operations. My experience has also allowed me to build a strong knowledge base and diverse professional network. My management style is collaborative and inclusive. I am acutely aware of the unique characteristics and experiences of people and leverage that skill to help influence, motivate, and mentor colleagues and subordinates. I enjoy giving back. This has led me to proactively share my knowledge and experience. I\'ve spoken at Delta Sigma Pi, coed business fraternity at St. Peter\'s College. I provide resume critiques and interview skills advice at my alma mater, Rutgers University. I mentor individuals at my bank and also through gradresources.com. I have served on the board of directors for the Mental Health Association of Passaic County and Unchained at Last.
