Ramsden International is a leading wholesale exporter of British grocery brands, selling over products to more than 650 customers in 133 countries worldwide with a turnover of circa £40m pa. I work with the owner, the MD, and the Sales Director on strategy whilst also leading the Finance, IT, Projects and Claims teams. Key achievements: developed and implemented a profit turnaround strategy following the loss of ~50% of European sales due to Brexit - turning a £1.0m loss in 2021 to a small profit in 2022 negotiated new shareholder agreements to reduce cash distributions by £0.7m pa designed and implemented a company-wide profit share scheme to drive all-round accountability negotiated more favourable banking facilities saving £70k pa and easing bank covenants reviewed IT systems, selected a new ERP system and implementation partner implemented global, regional and channel pricing corridors (discount rates) which drove profit margins 1.9% higher.
