ABOUT PAULINE NGOM
I’m a rising senior at USC majoring in Economics with a minor in International Relations, focused on how infrastructure, energy systems, and trade flows shape political risk, market behavior, and strategic decision-making in emerging and frontier markets. My work emphasizes connecting macro-level geoeconomic dynamics to on-the-ground realities — including governance capacity, institutional incentives, and community-level outcomes — to better understand how states and firms navigate uncertainty. This past year, I completed a seminar on Economics and Security with Dr. Pamela Starr (Eurasia Group), examining how trade exposure, energy access, and regional integration influence political and economic risk — especially in volatile, shock-prone regions — and applying intelligence analysis frameworks, including OSINT, to interpret complex geopolitical and economic signals.I conducted fieldwork in Ghana, analyzing how urban expansion, land pressures, and spatial inequities affect governance, investment, and trade infrastructure. Using geodesign tools, I developed strategic recommendations for the Ghana Tourism Board, translating local insights into actionable guidance for public and B2B stakeholders. At the World Trade Center, I supported international partnership strategy, cross-border sponsorships, and SME trade engagement, applying B2B outreach, client communication, and project management skills. My coursework in Economic Consulting and Managerial Economics with Professor Jeffrey Dubin (StoneTurn) strengthened my ability to analyze large datasets, perform regression and causal inference analyses in Stata, and present quantitative insights clearly.I am proficient in Stata, Python, R, SQL, and Excel, with experience in data cleaning, visualization, and econometric modeling, and thrive in fast-paced, high-pressure environments where analytical rigor meets strategic thinking.I bring a field-informed perspective to structural economic and spatial analysis, translating local complexity into strategic risk narratives and decision-focused insights. I’m seeking opportunities at the intersection of geoeconomics, economic consulting, and geopolitical analysis, where data and intelligence inform high-stakes policy and global business strategy.Open and searching for opportunities for Spring 2026, Summer 2026, and beyond :) Let\'s connect.
