About Paulina Martin

As a seasoned Program Director with over 10 years of experience leading philanthropic initiatives, I excel in strategic program development, cross-functional team leadership, and impactful project management. At Arizona State University, I direct high-profile programs like the Allen Coral Atlas, a groundbreaking geospatial platform for coral reef conservation, and ʻĀkoʻakoʻa, a community-driven coral restoration project in Hawaiʻi. I manage diverse teams and have directly supervised individuals across Engineering, Communications, Engagement, and Research, fostering collaboration and ensuring on-time delivery of milestones. In my current role, I am responsible for managing multi-million dollar budgets, developing KPIs, and driving performance across global partnerships. My leadership in strategic planning and stakeholder management has resulted in successful program outcomes that contribute to climate resilience and environmental sustainability. Two of my key accomplishments includes defining the roadmap for Carbon Mapper’s ocean and land data products, positioning the satellite mission to enhance climate mitigation efforts, and launching the brand and strategic plan for ʻĀkoʻakoʻa.Before this, I spent 5 years at the Paul G. Allen Family Foundation (formerly known as Vulcan Inc), where I managed the Allen Coral Atlas, overseeing financials, partner relations, and product development. My expertise in contract negotiation with 4 core partner organizations, agile project management, and results-based facilitation contributed to the highly efficient team who launched the biodiversity conservation product. I’ve also played a pivotal role in scaling external relations, representing projects at major events, and driving business development.I am passionate about sustainability and nature-based solutions, data-driven decision-making, and building resilient, high-performing teams that advance the collective mission of environmental stewardship. While working full-time, I recently completed a Master’s degree of Sustainability Leadership, a degree program geared toward professionals who support the decarbonization of for-profit companies.Outside of my professional life, I enjoy paddle boarding, hosting zero waste clothing swaps, trying new restaurants, and perfecting my cold brew coffee method.I am always looking to grow my professional network. Feel free to contact me directly at p••••••••@gmail.com.Competencies: project management, strategy development, mentorship, process improvement, strategic planning, outreach and engagement.
