ABOUT PAULINA SCHWARTZ
As a rising 3L at Georgetown University Law Center, I am committed to using the law as a tool for environmental protection and human rights. My work focuses on advancing systemic legal strategies to address the climate crisis—particularly through impact litigation and public interest advocacy. For the past year, I have worked as a Law Clerk at Our Children’s Trust, where I support groundbreaking constitutional climate litigation aimed at securing the fundamental right to a safe and livable climate system. This experience has deepened my commitment to legal frameworks that center intergenerational justice and environmental accountability. At Georgetown, I’ve engaged with environmental law across multiple dimensions—serving on the executive board of the Georgetown Environmental Law Society, completing the Climate Change Law Practicum in partnership with the Maryland Department of Transportation, and pursuing academic work in environmental rights frameworks from a decolonial perspective. From developing a corporate Nature Governance strategy through the Business & Human Rights Practicum to supporting constitutional climate litigation at Our Children’s Trust, I’ve been driven by a commitment to push the boundaries of legal thought and expand how the law can serve ecological integrity and intergenerational justice. This fall, I look forward to joining the Environmental Law & Justice Clinic as a Student Attorney to further develop my skills in environmental justice advocacy. Fluent in English and German, conversational in Spanish, and a citizen of the U.S, Canada, and Germany, I bring a global perspective and cross-cultural awareness to my legal work. I’m always open to connecting with others working at the intersection of climate, human rights, and transformative legal change. Reach out at p•••••@georgetown.edu—I’d love to connect.
