About Paul Heyse
I am driven by the challenge of solving complex problems across diverse domains. At Shell, I honed my analytical skills, managing the intricacies of driving lasting improvement at large-scale manufacturing operations and providing technical assurance on a greenfield world scale production facility as a part of a brand new business unit. This experience instilled in me a deep appreciation for the nuances of operational excellence and the importance of meticulous planning.Transitioning to Boston Consulting Group allowed me to apply this foundation to a broader spectrum of industries. Whether restructuring organizational frameworks to integrating GenAI as as a part of daily industrial operations, quickly driving to tangible value through analytical rigor, and keeping a constant eye towards adaptations to maintain momentum despite changing context, sparks an innate excitement in me. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, I have navigated challenges in sectors ranging from mining to healthcare, always prioritizing actionable solutions over theoretical models. My academic background from MIT and Kellogg has further equipped me with a blend of imaginative technical rigor, and a grounding in the unavoidable centrality of deeply understanding, not assuming, your customers to create exceptional value. These starkly different vantage points to approach problems with analytical precision, tempered by the knowledge the analytically precise answer is the start, not the end, since the human element means the most rewarding challenges are never a tabletop exercise, they demand immersion and a mindset that is equally if not more so questioning than answering. While I have embraced the strategic aspects of consulting, the most rewarding work at BCG so far has been in the midst of where value is made, focused on realizing immediate tangible improvement and how it can be sustained indefinitely. I remain eager to return to environments demanding I take immediate ownership of imparting positive, sustained improvement in the core value streams that keeps everything going

Outperformed the baseline workflow, prompting planning for a permanent deploymentRevenue-enhancement for retail-lending (marketing diagnostic) and wealth-management (pricing). Pricing work spanned dispersion analysis, fee normalization plan integrating relationship manager input, go-forward price governance, client communications, and negotiations strategyOperating model redesigns of both industrial and CPG clients: top-to-bottom org redesign, restructuring function reporting lines to optimize for BU alignment vs scale efficiencies For chemical client, conducted in depth customer surveying, leveraging Latent Class Analysis machine learning and followup validation to develop highly distinctive segments based on key purchasing criteria. Association of customer segments to product categories drove KPC target setting at the sub-BU level. Business model processes were designed around these KPC targets, w/ flex boundaries and exception processes designed in to address niche segments without skewing focus on the core segment Cost-transformation efforts at two global banks: Consolidated managerial positions and led design sessions for placement of roles with multiple dotted reporting lines; tech cost takeout by identifying low cost open-source license suitability and developing go-forward migration planAided in rationalizing the KPI framework for a major health insurer and launching its first cross-business executive dashboards, strengthening data-driven dialogue at the C-1 org level
