   Creatively developing solutions to connect, extend, leverage and modernize existing mainframe based Transportation Systems according to business needs and technology developments. Core systems operate primarly under a DB2/CICS framework with supporting batch jobs. The coolest application written to date involves a Dynamic SQL Screen to find, display and even total equipment by groupings using some forty plus parameter fields, values and wildcard characters. This CICS Screen can produce over 500 million unique display solutions and has replaced the need for countless ad hoc DB2 reports saving the business countless hours and development cost. Also responsible for all EDI 322 equipment feeds flowing into the Crowley network from both outside entities (Rail, Container Yards, Ports, etc) and internal systems (Intermodal, Logistics, Gate, etc). This framework relies heavily on MQ for data transmission and processing. I designed and developed a whole sub system to support the processing of over equipment move updates daily into our core system in addition to providing an audit trail for subsequent report analysis. Two Activity Queue CICS screens were included to allow users to review failed EDI messages and their causes where they could massage the data and (re)process the record(s). Developed Adapter hooks and programs to communicate any equipment changes made within our Core Systems to outside entities allowing for cross platform systems to remain synchronized via MQ communication channels. Current role involves a strong business rapport, teaching at times, finding creative solutions to current issues and new project development intermixed with system support needs. Have also handled the supervision/managing of other software developers at various points.
