Sure, I have my PMP and CSM but tenacity, diplomacy, and a sense of humor sum up the core of who I am. Principles are what guide me and whatever the project is, I’m going to do it right. My genuine curiosity helps to diminish ambiguity and challenging situations by asking needed questions. Building and uniting teams in today’s diverse workforce can be difficult. Diplomacy and curiosity help me tear down walls and unite people behind a common purpose. Not taking myself too seriously helps with facilitating meetings and team morale. Humor helps too. Armed with data, I am a risktaker and agitator but always have the target in sight. I see the target clearly and never lose sight of the overall view. The deliverable is my target whereas scope, quality, cost and timelines are my view. I do my best to avoid delivering at the last minute but have managed projects racing over the finish line. I’ve fallen over and know I will do so again. I’m not looking forward to it, but I don’t fear it either. I’m a firm believer in learning from failures. Postmortems and After-Action Reviews (AARs) are a goldmine of learning opportunities and something I have extensive experience with. Technology and its ability to augment life is a deep-seated passion of mine. Mobile computing and cloud-based services which improve the quality of life make me tick. My personal life and home experience have been automated to a level which impresses business peers and professionals alike. Those not in the tech sector think it’s magic.    I am the Founder and CEO of Lost in Composition, which started as an art blog and evolved into a contemporary art gallery, soon to be on Seattle’s waterfront. From setting the vision and strategic direction to overseeing operations and ensuring financial sustainability, I own every bit of the business. This includes website and e-commerce development. Recruiting and retaining talent is the most important part of my job. This requires exceptional communication skills — both written and verbal — to sell my vision and demonstrate to these stakeholders that I can deliver results. This needed to be done prior to obtaining a lease. I needed talent behind me to demonstrate that my business plan was in place and working before obtaining a lease.I’ve taken calculated risks to execute strategic plans to exist within the established art community and deliver a solid alternative to the way art is marketed and sold. Locating the gallery just outside the heart of Seattle\'s art community and taking advantage of the revamped downtown waterfront are bold moves with easily identifiable benefits. Balancing business acumen with innovative thinking and technology, I have established a model that enables artists to sell more work than they could at a traditional gallery. This is a win-win scenario for both artists and the gallery. It was only achievable due to the use of highly underrated soft skills. The artists I represent are my most important stakeholders.
