About Paul Ford
Over my professional career, my site responsibilities have ranged from reaction and process engineering, emergency response, safety environment and health, equipment reliability, and project management.Al Solvay, I held positions in HSE in the Composites GBU and PSM engineer and Process Engineer in the Novecare GBU. As an HSE Specialist, I led the site\'s PHAs and MHAs, identifying actions to reduce risk and tracking those actions to completion. As Product Steward, I reviewed new chemicals and assisted in the creation of SDS\'s for intermediate and final products. In Novecare, I led the effort to reduce a backlog of open actions and implemented a transition of the site\'s MOC, incident reporting, and action tool. I supported technical support of various site areas including the wastewater, utilities, and certain production processes. At Sabic, I held positions of Reliability Leader, Production Availability Leader, and Latex Process Engineer, holding responsibility for equipment and processes at the building, unit, and site levels. The Asset Reliability work process centers around the 4 methodologies of RCM (Reliability-Centered Maintenance), RBI (Risk-Based Inspection), RIS (Reliability Instrumented Systems), and RCA (Root Cause Analysis). I managed several Mechanical Integrity Programs for Tanks & Pressure Vessels, Piping Systems, PRDs, Hoses, and Site Infrastructure. I have developed the scope of capital improvement projects and corrective actions identified during inspections or analyses. I also am certified as a Six Sigma Greenbelt. At AOC, I held positions as Reactor Product/Process Engineer, QC Lab Supervisor, and EHS Site Coordinator. As Reactor Engineer, I was responsible for tracking the quality of 65-70 base resins, providing process improvements and support. In 2004, supervision of the QC Lab was added, including direct supervision of 24-hr staff of 10 lab techs. In late 2005, I transitioned to EHS Coordinator, where I had full responsibility for all EHS activities of the plant including PSM management, training site personnel, waste collection, storage, disposal, and reporting of Haz, Non-Haz, Universal, and Special Wastes for a RCRA Large Quantity Generator, compliance with PSM, OSHA, and environmental permit parameters, and representing the company during agency audits. I led implementation and monitoring for stormwater, wastewater, waste minimization, Tier 2, and Title V as a synthetic-minor facility.
