ABOUT PAUL DAIGNEAULT

I am a senior engineering leader specialising in large-scale transformation within regulated financial services. My recent work includes delivering multi-year core banking programmes, overseeing engineering teams of more than 80 people across the UK and India, and helping scale a major financial services account from around 10 people to more than 240.I build high-performing engineering organisations by defining standards, establishing effective SDLCs, shaping architectural principles, and putting in place the practices and tooling required for reliable, secure, and scalable delivery. My leadership style combines clarity, technical depth, and a strong people focus—setting direction, unblocking teams, and enabling engineers to operate with autonomy and confidence.I have been a key engineering leader on multiple high-value programmes, including the delivery of major core banking go-lives as part of a next-generation banking platform transformation. A significant part of this work involved establishing and integrating a full offshore engineering capability in India—building relationships from the ground up, maturing delivery practices, and raising technical quality across teams operating in different regions and time zones.My experience spans cloud-native architectures, distributed systems, event-driven design, DevOps automation, and modern engineering culture. I apply continuous improvement, fast feedback loops, and iterative delivery practices to help teams move quickly while maintaining safety, resilience, and regulatory compliance. I maintain enough hands-on depth to guide technical decisions and resolve complex issues, while operating primarily at the strategic and organisational level to scale engineering effectively.Prior to my recent work in large-scale financial services transformation, I spent more than a decade delivering software engineering, consulting, and technical leadership across a range of industries. This broader background shaped the technical versatility, architectural understanding, and team-building experience that underpin my recent success in the finance industry.
