ABOUT PAUL MCKEE

I am a Cognitive Neuroscience Ph.D. and an Executive MBA Candidate with a Master\'s degree in Interdisciplinary Data Science (MIDS) from Duke University—becoming the first Ph.D. student in Duke’s history to enroll concurrently in the MIDS program, the first to do so in the MBA program, and the first to complete any two master’s degrees simultaneously alongside the Ph.D.My research–drawing from organizational behavior, social and cognitive psychology, philosophy, and behavioral economics–examines the motivational factors that influence how individuals perceive and navigate the workplace. These forces include moral cognition and the fear of missing out (FoMO). To understand how they influence behavior, decision-making, and the ability to thrive in organizational contexts, I employ a range of methodologies, including behavioral experiments, neuroimaging, computational modeling, and large-scale analyses of real-world archival datasets. My work has been supported by the National Science Foundation and has been featured in popular press outlets, including Forbes, Times Higher Education, and Fortune. Additionally, my work has been featured in public messaging from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and WebMD.I previously held a Visiting Researcher affiliation with Stanford. Additionally, I am an Adjunct Professor at my alma mater, Southern Connecticut State University, in the Departments of Psychology, Philosophy, and Computer Science.Outside of academia, I have extensive industry experience as the Founding Machine Learning Engineer for Patient Preference Predictor, LLC, and proudly served as a United States Marine Corps Machine Gunner with 2nd Battalion, 2nd Marines from 2013 to 2018.
