About Paul Bielicki

I\'m equally at home in a boardroom wearing a suit as I am on a jobsite in boots and a hardhat — and that versatility shapes how I approach every project. With experience spanning SF corporate offices, performing arts centers, and healthcare facilities, I\'ve spent my career managing and technically developing complex building projects from concept through construction. My dual training as both a licensed architect and structural engineer gives me a uniquely integrated lens for problem-solving — one that bridges design intent with technical reality.Currently, my focus is the building enclosure: the critical boundary between a carefully designed interior environment and the forces of nature outside it. How that boundary is conceived and detailed has profound implications for a building\'s longevity and the quality of life of its occupants. It\'s detail-oriented, high-stakes work — and exactly the kind of challenge I thrive on.At my core, I\'m a problem solver. What drives me most is when a solution has real, observable, practical application — where you can watch it perform, learn from it, and carry those insights into the next challenge. My research interests center on efficiency, particularly the intersection of sustainability and resource stewardship. I\'m passionate about material and systems reuse — not recycling, but true component reuse across building projects. Recycling costs energy; reuse preserves it. As the industry rethinks what happens at the end of a building\'s life, I believe component reuse represents one of the most underexplored opportunities in sustainable design.Specialties: Project collaboration, consultant coordination, exterior envelope design, moisture management in buildings, sustainable design solutions combining building envelope with interior air quality, building and building component reuse, teaching
