ABOUT PAUL BICKER

A delivery focussed technical leader with 2 decades experience and a strong background in software engineering, DevOps & Agile principals. Over the last 20-years, I have worked in the tech sector, with small and large organisations. Prior to joining asset55 as CTO, I successfully managed the delivery of strategic software projects into large corporate clients in the energy, automotive, and manufacturing industries, as well as in the public sector for the NHS and police services.I am passionate about building high performing teams with a focus on rapidly delivering customer value, technical excellence, and real team work. Using Agile, Lean & DevOps practices, and I am motivated to leverage emerging technologies such as machine learning, IOT and cyber-physical systems to deliver competitive advantage to asset55 and our clients.I work principally within the Microsoft technology stack and have keen interest in the integration of mobile solutions, remote devices and big data. I am able to work efficiently at any level within any size client/organisation to understand their specific needs and expectations. I engage with clients throughout the Software Development Life Cycle including discovery, sizing, solution architecture and test approaches.In addition responsibilities as an executive board director, as CTO I manage the full technologyprogramme within asset55, both internally and externally. I am responsible for the strategic product development plan, methodology, quality, and delivery teams. This encompasses internal systems, software development, testing, data analytics, UI/UX, DevOps, and business as usual activities.My experience covers- Product development.­­ - PRINCE2 project management- ITIL service delivery- BDD / test automation- Cloud hosting, platform as a service, infrastructure as code- Building and leading Agile and Scrum teams- Performance, load & security testing
