ABOUT PAUL JOHNSTON

Paul is a senior financial services executive with a deep expertise in data, AI & technology transformation. An operator focused on outcomes, he bridges business insight, strategy and technology/ AI to unlock value. He is a Banking and Capital markets industry expert, including front, middle and back office operations, risk & finance and the regulatory change agenda, and is an experienced operator at Exco/ Board level. His expertise spans data, digital, technology, AI and risk & finance transformation and he has successfully sold, solutionised and delivered multi-year and multi-portfolio programmes for top tier banks. Programmes include E2E data modernisation at one of the UK\'s top five banks; technology enabled transformation of a large corporate bank including their client relationship management (with an agentic AI based workbench); and E2E digitalisation of a wealth manager. He has built enduring client portfolios and relationships that have spanned employers, growing many client accounts from scratch across the UK, Europe and the Middle East, and has successfully performed the lead client partner role on key accounts. Paul leads the Global Data & Analytics consultancy practice at S&P GlobalPaul has extensive experience of building and nurturing high performing data & analytics and risk teams in consultancies and within industry, with accountability for strategy, p&l and talent. He has led mergers & acquisitions and has set up near shore centres. He has also performed COO, practice lead and alliance lead roles at his employers. He brings deep technical skills and understanding of systems/ tools across the data & technology ecosystem. Paul has a MA in Mathematics from the University of Cambridge and is a qualified actuary.
