Dr. Anderson leads the Coral Reef Aquarium Fisheries Campaign, whose goal is to empower sustainable coral reef aquarium fisheries that support biodiversity conservation, healthy coral reefs, and the livelihoods of those who depend on them across the global value chain. The Campaign advances this goal through a three-pronged synergistic approach: 1) Work with Source Country Governments: To develop fisheries policy, management, and enforcement in collaboration with fishers and traders in the value chain 2) Upgrade the Value Chain: Change the paradigm from a volume driven approach—where fishers and traders earn little money per fish, offering no incentive for survival—to a value driven approach—where fishers, traders, and others in the value chain can command premiums for high quality fish that have been well-cared for, offering incentives to optimize survival across the value chain 3) Aquaculture: To offset fishing pressure of vulnerable coral reef aquarium fish species
