ABOUT PAULAMI BOSE
My research interest lies in the area of Molecular Materials. I am focussing on the chemistry of the ultrasmall nanomaterials called atomically precise nanoclusters, having a size below 3 nm. Our group in IITM has pioneered in many novel noble metal nanoclusters with molecular properties. I am part of the group, that explores particularly reactions of these nanoclusters with it much larger thiol-capped plasmonic nanoparticles. My expertise lies in the synthesis of different thiol-protected noble metal plasmonic nanoparticles with tunable size, monodispersity and ligand coverage. Recently, we have reported such nanoclusters can be employed in the synthesis of ultrasmall alloy nanoparticles with tunable compositions.
