ABOUT PAULA M.

I am a Director of Community Engagement and Strategic Partnerships with 15+ years of experience leading cross-sector initiatives that advance public health, health equity, and community impact.My work sits at the intersection of healthcare, community engagement, and systems change. I have led large-scale initiatives, including managing over $8M in grant-funded programs, and have built partnerships across government agencies, healthcare systems, utilities, and nonprofit organizations to improve access, outcomes, and long-term sustainability.Throughout my career, I have focused on aligning community priorities with organizational strategy—ensuring programs are not only effective, but equitable and responsive to the communities they serve. I bring experience working in complex, matrixed environments, collaborating across leadership teams, and driving engagement strategies that support both community impact and organizational growth.I previously spent seven years working within a health plan, where I developed a strong foundation in population health, member engagement, and healthcare access. That experience continues to inform my approach to community engagement as a driver of prevention, access, and long-term outcomes.I currently serve on the Cook County Health Systems Advisory Council and other boards, contributing to efforts that improve community health and access across the region.I am passionate about building partnerships, influencing systems, and creating solutions that strengthen communities and expand opportunity.
