ABOUT PAULA DE MATOS
I am a user researcher leader specialising in the application of UX in complex domains such as life sciences, finance and biodiversity to name but a few. Complex domains provide an added challenge when designing for a great experience in that the designer needs to become knowledgeable in the domain before they can fully understand the user research. I am able to use my previous experience in the life sciences, engineering and software development to work in my favour here. I choose my research techniques carefully and tackle large design problems logically. Complex domains often have complex problems associated with Big Data. I use specialist knowledge across a variety of fields such as information visualisation to human computer interaction.
