Responsible for maintenance operations of 55+ childcare locations, 3 community centres, 4 health, fitness & aquatic centres across Northern Alberta and corporate office • Partner with centre-managers in ensuring that the facilities meet the standards of excellence• Collaborate with the health and safety team to ensure that all work is completed within the regulatory requirements and child protections standards• Respond to facility issues and needs in a timely and efficient manner• Ensure building and staff safety and regulatory procedures and codes are adhered to at all times including the Fire Code, OHS, AHS and YMCA Health and Safety• Oversee the effective management of physical assets ensuring optimum equipment reliability, economic life of assets, safety records, environmental compliance, and return on asset investment• Maintain direct hands-on technical leadership and direction to the facility operators to ensure clean, safe and well maintained facilities• Support asset management, annual priority planning, implement project management support and oversee refurbishment and capital projects• Provide support in the development, preparation, and management of annual operational and capital budgets• Manage contractor building maintenance including contract negotiation, coordinating external trades people, and managing contractor performance for optimal repairs and maintenance on equipment and building systems
