ABOUT PAULA MASON LAWSON

With +20 years’ experience in global HR and Business Partnering, I offer a wide spectrum of expertise across strategic, consulting, generalist, and operational HR functions. Throughout my international career, I have formed part of Senior Leadership Teams, contributing to organisational strategy and HR and wider business improvements, yielding excellent results. My international work record, including UK, Papua New Guinea, Cambodia, UAE, Afghanistan, and South Africa, has delivered specialism in global policy development, HR team leading, mentoring, and development, employee engagement, international employment law, leadership development, and recruitment and onboarding. I enjoy working cross-functionally and cross-culturally, identifying gaps to shape HR functions and building internal/external stakeholder relationships to deliver exceptional results. Data driven, I optimise the use of business information to support the development of winning HR strategies and drive informed decision making. I lead by example, designing and implementing effective and measurable HR activities, including Diversity & Inclusion, Employee Engagement, Wellbeing and Recruitment. Some of my achievements include- Built a business across 4 countries and implemented a departmental global HR structure- Successfully implemented year-on-year staffing and recruitment budget for large private hospital (+£6.5m per month)- Created Business Partnering Team model adopted by large international company- Produced global suite of HR polices for implementation across 5 international locations - Increased employee engagement from 39% to 85%- Implemented reward strategy in highly competitive and fluid industry to reduce attrition from 32% to 5%- Introduced company-wide medical insurance to budget, plus employee salary increases at zero cost- Successfully led turnaround of underperforming manager to become business leader in 6-months- Successfully averted mass strike action following threat of redundanciesI am an extremely personable and approachable individual, always seeking new ways of providing additional guidance and support within the workplace.
