ABOUT PAUL WREN
I’m the Chief Scientific Officer at Mindstate Design Labs, a psychedelic drug development company designing altered states of consciousness for mental health therapeutics. I am a pharmacologist by training with a PhD from the University of Edinburgh in the pharmacology of monoamine transporters and receptors in relation to antidepressants and ecstasy. I have significant Industrial experience in neurology & psychiatry R&D spanning over 3 decades. Over the years, I have transitioned from leading in vitro pharmacology functions to significant leadership roles across diverse geographical territories (US, UK, Italy & China) across the discovery, translational and clinical interfaces in areas such as Mood Disorders, Neurodegeneration and Pain. My research interests are in identifying and translating novel human relevant disease mechanisms into therapeutics that can make a fundamental long-term impact to the quality of patients’ lives. Whether working within internal company environments or in collaborative open science initiatives, my passion is in translational drug discovery and development.
